Samyang Corporation Participates in IFIA Japan 2025 to Showcase Specialty Ingredient-Based Solutions


-Participated in ‘IFIA∙HFE Japan 2025’ in Tokyo, Japan, from May 21 to 23, marking its fifth consecutive year of attendance
-Proposed practical solutions utilizing specialty food ingredients such as allulose and prebiotics

Samyang Corporation (President Choi Nak-hyun) announced that it participated in the 2025 IFIA∙HFE Japan, held in Tokyo from May 21 to 23. During the event, Samyang Corporation showcased the excellence of its specialty (high- functional) food ingredients and introduced practical solutions utilizing these ingredients.


IFIA∙HFE Japan is a leading international food ingredients and health food exhibition in Asia, attracting over 300 companies and more than 30,000 visitors from around the world. The exhibition features a wide range of new ingredients, technologies, and products in the field of food and functional health.


Samyang Corporation has participated in this event for the fifth consecutive year to promote its specialty food ingredients to local distributors and food manufacturers, while also gaining insights into industry and market trends. At this year’s exhibition, Samyang Corporation featured its alternative sweetener ‘allulose’ and health-functional ingredient ‘resistant dextrin’, and proposed ingredient-based solutions to meet diverse application needs.


In particular, Samyang Corporation offered tasting samples of protein bars and gummies containing both allulose and resistant dextrin, while also showcasing a range of concept applications across food categories including ice cream, beverages, and sauces to help visitors better understand the benefits of these ingredients.


Allulose is a nearly zero-calorie alternative sweetener that provides approximately 70% of the sweetness of sugar. Samyang Corporation successfully developed its proprietary enzyme-based production technology for liquid allulose in 2016 and began commercial production in 2020. In 2024, the company completed the construction of South Korea’s largest specialty food ingredient production facility in Ulsan. Currently, Samyang Corporation supplies allulose globally through its B2C brand ‘TrueSweet’ and B2B brand ‘Nexweet’.


Resistant dextrin is a soluble dietary fiber with over 85% fiber content, known for its health benefits such as △ improves gut health △ lower blood glucose & glycemic response △reduces blood triglycerides level. Since 2021, Samyang Corporation has been producing liquid and powdered resistant dextrin under the ‘Fiberest’ brand for both domestic and international markets.


Lee Sang-hoon, Head of Samyang Corporation’s Food Business Unit, stated,“Through this exhibition, we not only demonstrated the strengths of our specialty ingredients, but also gained valuable insights into the needs of potential customers in the region. As we aim to expand the share of our global sales in the long term, we will continue to actively participate in international food exhibitions to secure new business opportunities.”


Meanwhile, following its participation in NPEW 2025 in Anaheim this March, Samyang Corporation plans to continue its global outreach by attending other major international events including △ IFT 2025 (USA, July) △ Hi-Japan 2025 (Japan, October) △ SSW 2025 (USA, October).
