Samyang Corporation Corporation (President Choi Nak-hyun) announced that it participated in the 2025 Natural Products Expo West (NPEW), held in Anaheim, California, from March 5 to 7. During the event, Samyang Corporation showcased the excellence of its specialty(high-performance) food ingredients and introduced solutions utilizing these ingredients.

NPEW is the world’s largest natural food exhibition, attracting over 3,000 companies from approximately 130 countries and more than 65,000 visitors. The event primarily features manufacturers, distributors, and buyers from industries related to natural and organic foods, dietary supplements, and lifestyle products. Samyang Corporation Corporation participated for the second consecutive year.

Samyang Corporation exhibited its nearly zero-calories alternative sweetener, ‘allulose’, and its health-functional ingredient, ‘resistant dextrin’ at the event. This year, with a focus on providing solutions utilizing specialty ingredients, Samyang Corporation offered gummies and protein bars as tasting samples to enhance visitors' understanding. Additionally, Samyang Corporation showcased practical solutions using products containing allulose and resistant dextrin, such as ice cream and protein drinks.

Allulose is a nearly zero-calories alternative sweetener that provides approximately 70% of the sweetness of sugar. With physical properties similar to fructose, it is widely used in beverages, confectionery, dairy products, and sauces. Samyang Corporation successfully developed mass-production technology for allulose with its proprietary enzyme technology in 2016 and began commercial production in 2020. In 2024, Samyang Corporation completed the construction of South Korea’s largest allulose production facility in Ulsan, achieving an annual production capacity of 13,000 tons, further strengthening its industry presence.

Resistant dextrin is a soluble dietary fiber with a dietary fiber content of over 85%, used as a health functional food ingredient that can help with △ improves gut health △ lower blood glucose & glycemic response △reduces blood triglycerides level. In 2021, Samyang Corporation launched the ‘Fiberest’ brand and has since been supplying liquid and powdered resistant dextrin to both domestic and international markets.

To enhance promotional efforts, Samyang Corporation also participated in the ‘The Southern California IFT Suppliers Night Expo’ on March 4, held in the same region ahead of NPEW. This exhibition, organized by the Institute of Food Technologists (IFT), provided Samyang Corporation with an opportunity to introduce its specialty ingredients to potential customers, encouraging them to visit the company's booth at NPEW to drive tangible business results.

Lee Sang-hoon, Head of Samyang Corporation’s Food Business Unit, stated, “This year, we focused on identifying potential customers and expanding our distribution channels by presenting practical solutions utilizing specialty ingredients. With the completion of our new allulose production facility last year, we have doubled our production capacity and will now focus on strengthening our global market strategy to enhance business profitability."
