Samyang Corporation announced on October 15 that it is participating in Health Ingredients Japan 2026 (Hi-Japan), held in Tokyo, Japan, from October 14 to 16, to showcase its specialty food ingredients for sugar reduction and dietary fiber enrichment.
Hi-Japan is Japan’s largest food ingredients exhibition, bringing together approximately 600 global food ingredient manufacturers and distributors and attracting more than 30,000 food industry professionals. Samyang Corporation has participated in the exhibition for six consecutive years to strengthen local partnerships and expand its market presence.
At this year’s exhibition, Samyang Corporation is showcasing its alternative sweetener allulose and dietary fiber ingredients resistant dextrin and kestose. The company is also displaying customer products formulated with its specialty ingredients to demonstrate practical solutions for reducing sugar and enriching dietary fiber across various food applications. In addition, Samyang Corporation is sharing recent research findings on the functional properties of its ingredients to highlight their benefits and potential applications.
At the exhibition, Samyang Corporation is introducing Fibernova®, its brand for the crystalline dietary fiber ingredient Kestose, to the Japanese market. Kestose is a high-purity crystalline prebiotic ingredient containing more than 99% fructooligosaccharides (FOS). Developed using Samyang Corporation’s accumulated technological expertise, Fibernova® features low hygroscopicity, which helps prevent clumping, and excellent water solubility, making it suitable for applications such as powdered beverages and stick-pack products. It also provides approximately 30% of the sweetness of sugar while containing only about 1% sugar, making it well suited for developing food and beverage products with reduced sugar and added dietary fiber.
To help visitors directly experience the taste and versatility of its specialty ingredients, Samyang Corporation is offering tasting samples of sports drinks and vitamin C pectin gummies formulated with allulose and resistant dextrin. The sports drink uses allulose to deliver sugar-like sweetness and a clean, refreshing taste. The vitamin C pectin gummies demonstrate the potential of sugar reduction and fiber enrichment solutions by combining reduced calories with added dietary fiber.
“Japan is a market with strong consumer interest in healthy eating and active development of functional food products. This exhibition is particularly meaningful as it marks the introduction of our next-generation crystalline dietary fiber brand, Fibernova®, to the Japanese market,” said Jung Jisuk, Head of the Food Business Unit at Samyang Corporation. “We will continue to expand our partnerships with local customers by providing tailored sugar reduction and fiber enrichment solutions that meet their needs.”
Meanwhile, Samyang Corporation is actively expanding its global customer base and market presence through participation in international food exhibitions. This year, the company participated in Natural Products Expo West (NPEW) 2026 in the United States in March, IFIA Japan 2026 in May, and IFT 2026 in the United States in July. It is also scheduled to participate in SupplySide Global (SSG) 2026 in the United States on October 28. Through continued participation in major international food exhibitions, Samyang Corporation aims to demonstrate the competitiveness of its specialty food ingredients and strengthen engagement with global customers.
