Samyang Corporation is participating in Korea's largest food exhibition to showcase the excellence of its specialty (high-functional) ingredients.

Samyang Corporation (CEO Choi Nak-hyun) announced that it will participate in the '2024 Seoul International Food Industry Exhibition' held at Ilsan KINTEX for four days from the 11th to the 14th, operating a promotional booth.

The Seoul International Food Industry Exhibition is the largest food exhibition in Korea, providing a venue to understand the trends and developments in the domestic and international food markets and facilitating exchanges between companies in the food sector. Having participated for the first-time last year, Samyang Corporation is doubling the size of its promotional booth this year and plans to focus on promoting its specialty ingredients: the alternative sweetener 'Allulose' and the water-soluble dietary fiber 'Resistant dextrin.'

Allulose is a rare sugar found in small quantities in figs, grapes, etc., providing about 70% of the sweetness of sugar but with zero calories. Samyang successfully developed liquid allulose based on its proprietary enzyme technology in 2016 and launched the B2C premium sugar brand 'Trusweet' the following year. Full-scale mass production began in 2020, and through the B2B brand 'Nexweet' introduced the following year, it has been supplying allulose domestically and internationally.

Resistant dextrin, a soluble dietary fiber, is a functional food ingredient that can help with smooth bowel movements, suppress post-meal blood sugar spikes, and improve blood triglycerides. Samyang launched the brand 'Fiberest' in 2021, producing both liquid and powdered forms of resistant dextrin.

At this event, Samyang will display domestic food and beverage products successfully commercialized using these ingredients to help visitors better understand them. They will also offer tasting samples of zero-calorie slushies and low-calorie, high-fiber gummies made with these ingredients.

Additionally, visitors who hear product introductions and experience the tasting samples can participate in a lucky-draw event. Prizes include the hangover relief drink 'Sanghwang Booster Zero' made with allulose, the home-use syrup 'Trusweet Allulose,' and eco-bags featuring the Nexweet brand design. Furthermore, they have prepared interactive content such as a photo zone where visitors can take photos to commemorate their visit to the booth.

Lee Sang-hoon, head of Samyang Corporation’s Food BU, said, “We have expanded the booth size to make it more convenient for many visitors and prepared various interactive content so that more people can experience Samyang’s specialty ingredients in a unique way. Through this exhibition, we aim to understand the needs of potential customers and focus on expanding our sales channels.”

Meanwhile, Samyang Corporation is also actively participating in overseas food-related exhibitions to expand its sales channels. Following the '2024 NPEW' held in the United States in March and 'IFIA 2024' held in Japan in May, the company plans to participate in the 'IFT 2024' food ingredients exhibition to be held in the United States this July.
